Weekend Style

Hey everyone, welcome back!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Mine was filled with good food and even better friends that I am so thankful to have, and really put a smile on my face to start this week off strong!

I have found myself saying to a lot of people lately that I just don’t really like shorts.  “Why are you wearing a midi skirt to a baseball game?”  “Why are you so overdressed?”  Truth be told, as much as I do tend to overdress for everything, I also feel much more comfortable in a dress or skirt than I do in shorts.  With a pair of flats and a good hat, everyone else seems to be on board with this combo for the weekend too!  Or maybe they’ve just run out of jokes to make…

Casual Pastels

I’m so excited about these TOMS wedges, you can expect to see them around here a fair amount.  I had been been eyeing this suede version all fall and winter and never pulled the trigger on them.  I’m happy I didn’t because these linen ones have so much more dimension to them, and are totally unlike all of my other spring shoes!

I had originally planned on wearing this outfit with my super skinny ankle jeans… But I am apparently very bad at doing my own laundry and wound up wearing my boyfriend jeans instead.  Every spring that I get to break these bad boys out again I remember how much I love them.  They’re Lucky Brand’s super soft denim, and somehow manage to be both comfortable, non-binding, fashionable, and flattering all at once.

I am a big fan of S’well bottles, and I have been carrying my S’ip by S’well from Target around all spring long!  I love that it is a completely new shape from the traditional bottle, and that it comes in so many bright colors and fun patterns; perfect for spring and summer!

Singing Beach

IMG_6386 IMG_6402

A couple weeks ago we had a stretch of days into the 90s, and so we were able to sneak in a beach trip to the beautiful Singing Beach in Manchester-By-The-Sea.  It’s so named because the sand squeaks when you walk across it!  It’s also super accessible from the city (only half a mile walk from the train station) so it makes for a great day trip spot for Bostonians.

Standing Tall

IMG_4198 IMG_4212

The amazing pinstripe pants strike again.  These so happen to combine three of my favorite pant traits into one amazing pair (high waisted, ankle, and colored), so this definitely won’t be the last time you’ll be seeing them around this corner of the interweb. While Mother Nature has certainly been flirting with warmth lately, we still have some cool days among us, not to mention chilly nights that are not at all spring like, so I just layered on this Old Navy blazer I’m certifiably obsessed with.  I love how tall the combination of the vertical stripes and the long blazer makes me seem (though I guess heels that push me over six feet don’t hurt either…)
