Summer Shoe Guide

Happy Hump Day, friends!  Today I’m sharing some of my favorite shoe finds for the summer months.  Most of these are under $50, but they are all under $75, so there is something for everyone to pick from!  Whether you’re looking for a wedding guest sandal, a beach shoe, or something comfy to explore in; just keep reading to find the best affordable shoes for summer!

Summer Shoe Guide.png

One: Merona Low Block Heel Pumps – $27.99 – I actually featured these on my snapchat (@chummer17) a few months ago, because they are an amazing dupe for the Steve Madden pair that is more than double the price!  The low block heel is so on trend for 2017, and with five colors to choose from these definitely will not let you down.

Two: Soludos Stripe Espadrille Loafer – $54.95 – The stripes may scream “Americana”, but I have full confidence these striped kicks will get their money’s worth all summer long.  The red and blue is subtle enough that they transcend holidays into full blown summer approval.

Three: Keds Espadrille Tennis Shoes – $55 – These Keds are the stuff beachy dreams are made of.  I love the cream canvas tennis shoe upper, atop the espadrille sole.  I can just imagine these getting tons of wear down the Cape this summer, from bike rides to ice cream trips!

Four: Splendid Jakey Ankle Strap Sandal – $63.96 – These blush heels are absolutely to die for.  They’re currently 50% off, and look a lot like my LC Lauren Conrad heels I wear nonstop (last seen here and here).  I wear my similar pair with everything, so I would definitely recommend trying these out!

Five: Sperry Perforated Sneaker – $74.95 – I have these shoes in orange from two years ago and I am totally obsessed with them.  This year they come in six colors that are perfectly on trend for 2017.  They are cute and casual, plus super easy to slip in and out of!

Six: Who What Wear Exotic Print Slide Sandals – $27.99 – I am loving the slide trend that has been everywhere this year.  The luxe print on these makes them look way more expensive than they actually are, plus they would look great with everything from a dinner dress to denim cutoffs!

Seven: Who What Wear Double Band Block Heel Slide Sandals – $32.99 – I have been trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on these for MONTHS now!  They come in five different colors, which are equally stunning.

Eight: Forever 21 Tasseled Faux Leather Heels – $32.90 – I can be a bit hesitant about the tassel trend, because a lot of times it feels a little forced, juvenile, or not quite like me.  These sandals, however, have completely changed my mind.  I love the all nude look, and the short block heel is perfectly elegant and on trend.

Nine: Superga Cotu Sneakers – $64.95 – My mom is a die-hard Superga lover.  I’m pretty sure she was wearing them before Kate Middleton and Emma Watson, so she is pretty much fashion #goals.  She swears by their comfort, the cut, and the cute all white looks good with anything.

Ten: H&M Sneakers – $24.99 – Millennial Pink lovers rejoice – these shoes were pretty much made for you.  I love the detailing to the pink sole, and the fact that they are under $25 really just sweetens the deal.

Fall With J.Crew

img_5452img_5383img_5330

J.Crew has been knocking it out of the park this season.  Every time I look online or stop in one of the stores I find myself swooning over all sorts of classic reliables and new pieces.  Luckily now that J.Crew is being sold at Nordstrom in addition to the J.Crew and J.Crew Factory lines, I have three options to find my favorite brand.

Gift Guide: The Jetsetter

Everyone knows at least one person who is addicted to traveling.  With the experiences these people have regularly, it can be tough to pick a gift that can live up to them.  Some of my favorite gifts for the travel-addict include travel tools and tokens for home that remind them of their favorite spots around the globe.

This taxi snack bowl and Eiffel Tower tray are great home additions that evoke fond memories of everyone’s favorite European cities.

For their journeys, I love these stylish gold earbuds, Free People external battery, cord taco, and colorful power adapter to keep them plugged in.  I also love this passport case and luggage tag box set and this zip up pouch trio for staying organized on the road.

My favorite gift for the adventurer is actually the America the Beautiful Annual Pass.  It allows the holder and three accompanying adults entrance to all of the National Parks for a full year.  A nice physical addition to the pass (so they have something to open) is the National Parks Passport to guide them through their travels.

Bonus Stocking Stuffer Idea: La Fresh Travel Wipes.  For those who only travel with a carry on, TSA’s 3-1-1 rule can be the biggest challenge to overcome.  La Fresh offers everything from insect repellent and sunscreen to shoe shine in a convenient wipe form that will eliminate spills and allow a breezy trip through security!

Black Friday Ensemble

IMG_1674

Finding a Black Friday outfit may not seem high on your priority list this week as you scramble to get your travel accommodations or hosting preparations in order, but you will definitely appreciate thinking of it ahead of time when you need to get up and ready early the morning after Thanksgiving!

The key here is attaining that difficult balance between fashionable, functional, and comfortable.  I opted for leather leggings- still chic, but more forgiving than jeans when I’ve had one too many slices of my dad’s apple pie- and a chambray as my foundation.  Flats are comfortable to walk in and easy to slip in and out of when you’re trying on clothes, so I chose to wear my stylish leopard print flats.  A cross body bag is key!  You won’t keep hitting other shoppers in the crowd with your huge shoulder bag, and you’ll have both of your hands free for shopping!  I always keep my jewelry simple when I go shopping so I don’t have to worry about constantly taking it on and off when trying on different types of clothes in the fitting rooms, so I stuck to the basics with this silver necklace and studs.  I’m so obsessed with this look I will probably be wearing it much more frequently than just on Black Friday!

Chambray: American Eagle (old, love this one) | Leggings: Rock and Republic (old, but I may love these even more!) | Flats: American Eagle | Bag: Coach Factory (similar here and here) | Earrings: Banana Republic (old, similar here (and on sale!) | Necklace: Nadri

I always dedicate the month of November to Christmas shopping.  I always enjoy taking the time to find everyone on my list a thoughtful gift that I know they will love, instead of scrambling for something last minute.  Shopping early also helps me stay within my budget and shop around for the best price.  Once the Christmas shopping is done, I have the proper time and focus to appreciate the Christmas season without feeling like I lose all of my weekends to shopping at the mall with the masses.

Of course, no matter how hard you try to find a unique and personal gift, there will always be those people on your list who are just impossible to shop for.  For these people, we have the GAP family.  What I love most about GAP brands (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta), is you can shop at all of the brands using one shopping cart.  I love that you can hop back and forth between them so easily and only have to check out once!  Even better: they constantly have online deals running AND if you spend over $50 combined (or buy one item from Piperlime!) you get free shipping!  These awesome perks make it easy to shop for everyone you know in virtually one place, using one shopping cart!   Above are my top ten picks for those guys who are hard to shop for, there really is something for everyone.
