Color Confidence

When Vogue first called Spring/Summer 2017 the season of “color confidence”, you know I was the first one to buy in.  As a lover of color, I was so excited to embrace the warm oranges, bright blues, and bold pinks.  Pretty much every shade of yellow is in right now, from mustard to neon, but since yellow has never been the best color on my skin tone, I chose to embrace its friendly neighbors, pink and orange, in this bold spring outfit.

Blush and Orange

IMG_0445IMG_0447

I keep bringing back blush items over and over again this spring, and for someone who has historically never worn a ton of pink it seems rather strange.  Blush is so versatile and just soft enough that it doesn’t overpower the way a cotton candy or a bubble gum pink might. This skirt is such a soft and muted tone that it lets the orange top do all the talking, but I think it would be just as fun of a look with a more saturated pink skirt-who doesn’t love a good burst of color in spring?!

Weekend Stripes

IMG_4952 IMG_5008 IMG_4960

Finally- May’s first weekend is here! I’m celebrating by spending a weekend out exploring the North Shore with my sister in some bright orange jeans.  A day by the water (even if it’s not quite summer weather yet) always calls for a straw tote, in my book! It’s always important for me to wear comfortable shoes when I’m out doing some weekend exploring so that I can keep walking comfortably all day long, and if the opportunity to climb some rocks by the water arises, I’m prepared for it!

Nothing Rhymes With Orange

IMG_3683  IMG_3703 IMG_3704

Although it has been getting significantly warmer up north, we definitely still have a few cold days left before spring comes around in full force.  For these days, I love wearing a bright colored coat like this orange one.  I found it at TJMaxx a few years ago, but I love breaking it out every spring.  It is still practical for those chilly March days, but also adds a nice spring color to brighten up the day (and my mood).  Last weekend dipped back into the 30s, so I had to layer it with this soft oatmeal colored turtleneck to stay warm!  Soon, sundresses.  I’m coming for you soon.
