Bridging Seasons

Hey everyone, happy Friday!  Today I want to talk about those times of year that are a bit tricky to dress for: transition months.  My tried and true formula for September is to stick with warm weather basics (skirts, open toe shoes, etc) in autumn appropriate hues. I will hold on to every last bit of summer for as long as I can, but this look was a great way to start incorporating some of my new purchases while staying comfortable during the last days of summer.

Earth Tones

Welcome back my loves! I have had hiking on the brain since last month, I guess it was just a matter of time before I started to show it in my outfit. I am always so anxious to get outside in the spring (as much as my allergies/sinuses may resist me), I’ve been dying for the weather to catch up with me! Until then I’ll be over here wearing skirts with sweaters and jackets until my legs no longer freeze…

I used to be hugely against leopard print- I think I always just associated it with the Jersey Shore and couldn’t fathom the day I would actively want to wear anything leopard.  After seeing it done tastefully enough times over the years, I decided to embrace it- my leopard print flats are a staple in my wardrobe now (last seen here and here)!  I’m a big fan of Sole Society, and when I saw this leopard scarf on their website for only $30, I knew it would work its way into my wardrobe sooner or later!  The pattern is the perfect pop of fun and excitement to an all neutral look.

The New Neutral

IMG_4100 IMG_4102

As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I’m totally obsessing over pink this spring.  Some of my favorite pink finds this spring have been these shoes and this bag, because of their soft and versatile blush tone.  Blush is the perfect new neutral, because it goes with absolutely everything.  It can tone an outfit down or add a feminine touch of color like it does here.
