Wearing Blush in October

Hey y’all, welcome back!  Today I want to talk about ways to wear your lighter colors through the fall. I think it’s one of my responsibilities as a blogger to not only tell you what items I think you should add to your closet, but more importantly ways to wear those items again and again.  Midi skirts are a staple in my wardrobe, and therefore I love finding new ways to wear them as late as my bare legs will let me!  So if you ever bought a blush pleated midi skirt because of me, this post is dedicated to you.

My first step was these fabulous leopard booties, and then paired it with this maroon sweater.  With the blush anchored in darker hues, it blends it seamlessly through a see of October colors!

Leaning In To Fall

IMG_0370IMG_0372IMG_0338IMG_0377

Hello everyone, welcome back!  It’s not fully fall weather yet, but it’s been cooling down on and off enough to start thinking about how I’m going to be incorporating heavier fabrics (such as this faux leather skirt) back into my daily wardrobe once more.  I love how this dusty rose blouse complements the black faux leather and the leopard print!

If you don’t fancy yourself much a buttoned up blouse kinda girl, I love the options Express has come out in their Portofino shirt line.  Some have lace (worn here), some have tied cuff details, some have ruffles and some have stripes; but all are loose, lightweight, and super easy to wear.

Weekend Style

Hey everyone, welcome back!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Mine was filled with good food and even better friends that I am so thankful to have, and really put a smile on my face to start this week off strong!

I have found myself saying to a lot of people lately that I just don’t really like shorts.  “Why are you wearing a midi skirt to a baseball game?”  “Why are you so overdressed?”  Truth be told, as much as I do tend to overdress for everything, I also feel much more comfortable in a dress or skirt than I do in shorts.  With a pair of flats and a good hat, everyone else seems to be on board with this combo for the weekend too!  Or maybe they’ve just run out of jokes to make…

Cozy in Camel

You guys might recognize this sweater from last year; I had it one repeat in real life and featured it on the blog here.  This is definitely my favorite turtleneck I own.  It somehow manages to keep my neck warm while still being much more fitted and slim than other turtlenecks tend to be.  I love it so much that I broke it out a little early this year to pair with my new favorite heels, and will probably go back in for another color this year!

Are there any items on your Black Friday shopping lists I need to scoop up for the winter?  Let me know in the comments below!

Steps in Leopard

img_6110img_6065img_6119

Leopard is indisputably one of the hottest trends this season.  If you’re hesitant to embrace the boldness in large quantities, than a pop of print on your accessories is the perfect solution.  I love my leopard print flats and scarf and have them on regular rotation, so it was really only a matter of time before I added a pair of heels into the mix.  These LC Lauren Conrad heels are incredibly comfortable – I actually have them in both burgundy and leopard – and you cannot beat the price!  They also come in nude, black, gray, and navy so if you’re in the mood for *any* kind of dress heel LC has got you covered!

The Tortoise and The Leopard

While I’m definitely 100% okay with leaving winter behind, I am a little upset about leaving this skirt behind.  The suede trend has been one of my favorites this year, and this skirt always makes me feel like a million bucks when I wear it.  Especially with tights.  There’s just something about putting that extra effort in to wear tights that just totally elevates an outfit to the next level, especially when everyone around you is hiding behind jeans and boots.  Or at least that’s what I’ll tell myself every time I curse the cold wind blowing straight through them.

I used to be hugely against leopard print- I think I always just associated it with the Jersey Shore and couldn’t fathom the day I would actively want to wear anything leopard.  After seeing it done tastefully enough times over the years, I decided to embrace it- my leopard print flats are a staple in my wardrobe now (last seen here and here)!  I’m a big fan of Sole Society, and when I saw this leopard scarf on their website for only $30, I knew it would work its way into my wardrobe sooner or later!  The pattern is the perfect pop of fun and excitement to an all neutral look.
