Happy Friday everyone!  I can’t believe it’s already the 22nd!  The next week for me is going to be so busy but so full and I can’t wait to spend some quality time relaxing with all of my families!  As I do every year, I’m going to take next week off from blogging.  I love coming back refreshed in the New Year, and am looking forward to taking advantage of that time to reconnect with some of my favorite people.  Make sure to follow along on Instagram, though!

This cozy sweater from Old Navy was a bit of an impulse buy for me, since I have been loving long cardigans so much these past few months.  I grabbed it straight out of the shipping box on a late fall day for a drive to the ocean with B (seen in this Instagram), and that day I completely fell in love with it.  I paired it with my Converse for some beach time, and lately I’ve been wearing it while working from home at least once per week.  For Christmastide, I knew I would want to dress it up a bit, so I paired it with these fantastic leopard booties.  I love how they make the outfit look intentional and put together, while I get to stay comfortable in this sweater!

Holiday Pink

Hey everyone, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  With all the red and green holiday outfits out there, I wanted to share a fun alternative that’s just as festive.  I love the shine to this pleated skirt, and combined with some long pearls it gives off some pretty Nutcracker vibes, no?

Hello everyone, welcome back!  I always like to have at least one red dress for the holidays, and this one from Express caught my eye instantly.  I love the sheer sleeves, the polka dots, and the long sleeved silhouette most of all!  Paired with my new favorite Dolce Vita booties, it has the perfect amount of festive flair!

Holiday Velvet with Old Navy

Hey everyone, welcome back!  Today I’m so excited to talk about holiday’s velvet trend!  I have strong flashbacks to Christmas of 1997 when my cousins and I were all decked out in velvet dresses holding our American Girl Dolls, but it’s hard to deny the festive warmth that velvet holds!  Old Navy has some amazing velvet pieces, from dressed to camisoles and even pants!

This first outfit is perfect for a casual way to embrace velvet.  With a statement dress like this one, it’s easy to keep accessories to a minimum.  I went with my classic gold jewelry and threw on my leopard heeled booties to create a more fun and quirky outfit.

The second outfit I decided to lean in to the shorter hemline and go for a longer and sleeker look by adding in my classic black mules.  I love the faux wrap detail this red dress has, and you really can’t go wrong with red and velvet for the holidays!

Cookie Swap Flannel Pop

img_7873 img_7885

Happy Monday guys!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today’s outfit is ready for even the most discerning of crowds.  I’m not totally sure why but cookie swaps always seem really stressful to me.  For one, I always worry about my outfit more when I’m going to an all female event (my trendy Thanksgiving dress was planned with all my fabulous female cousins in mind) and for another I have to prepare cookies that are visually appealing and also delicious (or buy a box, shh), not just make myself look presentable.  Luckily this ensemble takes away a lot of the pressure away from getting dressed!  Flannel has that cozy domestic “home for the holidays” vibe, the leather midi skirt is trendy and fashionable, while these classic black pumps make sure all the ladies know to make room for me at the big kids table.

Tulle

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing some holiday inspired outfits that began at T.J.Maxx!  Their stores are absolutely stocked up right now for the holidays, and have pieces for every type of holiday gathering.  TJX brands have always been a great place to score designer pieces at affordable prices, but I have to say I was so impressed with their holiday selection this year.  As someone who will wear 95% sweaters for the next four months, believe me when I say their sweater game is strong.  Filled with vague holiday inspiration, they are perfect for the season but versatile enough to continue wearing throughout the rest of winter!  I will wear almost entirely sweaters to get togethers from Thanksgiving to New Year’s because I absolutely hate being cold, but it can be challenging to find new and exciting ways to wear a sweater than with a pair of jeans and riding boots.  So I’m challenging myself to find sweaters this season that I know will look just as cute with a festive skirt as with a pair of jeans!

I bought this LC Lauren Conrad tulle skirt last year and it was absolutely perfect for Christmas Eve, but I wasn’t sure I would be able to find another way to wear it this year.  Luckily as soon as I saw this Ivanka Trump sweater I knew it would be the perfect match, and even appropriate as early as Thanksgiving with a cooler color palette!  I adore Ivanka Trump’s entire line (we are birthday twins, after all!), but I often find it hard to justify the hefty price tags (I bought my favorite black boots at 50% off in February last year).  I’ve spotted so many to die for items at T.J.Maxx from my favorite designers, and the only thing I love more is the price tag.  I was able to find this sweater at Lord & Taylor online, but make sure you check your local store for it and other similar styles!
