Hello everyone, welcome back!  I always like to have at least one red dress for the holidays, and this one from Express caught my eye instantly.  I love the sheer sleeves, the polka dots, and the long sleeved silhouette most of all!  Paired with my new favorite Dolce Vita booties, it has the perfect amount of festive flair!

Cookie Swap Flannel Pop

img_7873 img_7885

Happy Monday guys!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today’s outfit is ready for even the most discerning of crowds.  I’m not totally sure why but cookie swaps always seem really stressful to me.  For one, I always worry about my outfit more when I’m going to an all female event (my trendy Thanksgiving dress was planned with all my fabulous female cousins in mind) and for another I have to prepare cookies that are visually appealing and also delicious (or buy a box, shh), not just make myself look presentable.  Luckily this ensemble takes away a lot of the pressure away from getting dressed!  Flannel has that cozy domestic “home for the holidays” vibe, the leather midi skirt is trendy and fashionable, while these classic black pumps make sure all the ladies know to make room for me at the big kids table.

Secret Santa

img_7102 img_7147 img_7107

Welcome back everyone!  Since a Secret Santa party is sort of like the Friendsgiving of Christmas celebrations, I felt it was okay to cast aside some of the more conventional requirements for Christmas party attire.  To me that meant two things- one, that I could opt for a beautiful winter palette of off-white and navy. and two, that I could wear this tulle skirt for the third year running.  Tulle doesn’t seem to be having the holiday moment that it had the past few years, but I love this skirt with all of my heart and so I’m going to take this rare opportunity and wear it again.  I mean, we’ll be lucky if we convince 30% of male attendees to put a sweater on over their non-iron shirts, so I think I can rock this tulle skirt, thank you very much.

Underneath the Tree

IMG_2319

Holiday Season is in full swing this week!  One of my favorite results is the constant excuse to don a killer pair of heels or a little extra sparkle for any (and every) occasion!

This year, I’m all about separates for my holiday outfits.  As much as I adore holiday dresses, I’m even more obsessed with the idea that by dressing in separates, I’m building my future wardrobe for the rest of the months to come as I mix and match the pieces to form a plethora of different looks!  For this weekend, I’m loving this cozy snowflake sweater and green skirt to stand out from the sea of black and red.  With extra pops of color I think it really makes a statement that’s festive but individual all at the same time.

This look can easily be recreated or replicated with currently owned pieces, so get to repurposing those wardrobes people!  Make sure to use the hashtag #compassclosets so I can see all of your holiday looks over the next week!
