Happy Monday! Today’s post came a bit later than usual, as a result of having a bit too much fun last week and less time working. I was able to spend an amazing few days in New York City with my sister and spent some time with friends which was much overdue. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly friendships can slide away during the colder months only to blossom in full force with the spring and summer. But alas, I’m pretty convinced this dress may be worth the wait.
I first spotted this gorgeous palm dress on the beautiful Jessi of The Darling Detail. As soon as I saw it I knew I just had to have it as well! Green is such a great summer color in any of its hues, and the palms make for the perfect subtle pattern. Initially I was reminded of a tropical getaway when I saw it, but after we saw Jurassic World my friend Jake said it looked like a dinosaur was about to jump out at any minute, so naturally I like that reaction best!
This dress is great for so many different occasions, one of my favorite is a quiet Saturday stroll or a trip to the farmers’ market. Tying a chambray over makes the dress a bit more casual but gives it a great put-together look.

This is a true ‘day to night’ option because I kept all of my jewelry on, and merely switched out my shoes and bag to make a more evening friendly look. I love a loser fitting dress for nights out; I tend to favor the conservative look overall and it’s always nice to be comfortable and still look cute!
