blush skirt – The Sol Compass

Happy Monday and welcome back! If you’ve been following The Sol Compass for a while now, you may know that I love pairing a simple tee with a more formal skirt. Last week I went outlet shopping with my mom and scored this navy v-neck and orange tank for only $21 total at the Banana Republic Factory Store with the promos they were having – and with shirts this soft you just can’t ask for better than that! I was planning on wearing my navy heels with this, but the weather was so nice over the weekend that I just had to break out my sandals while the weather still allowed it. Plus it gave me a chance to show off this amazing new color polish from the OPI Washington DC Collection on my nails and toes!

I keep bringing back blush items over and over again this spring, and for someone who has historically never worn a ton of pink it seems rather strange. Blush is so versatile and just soft enough that it doesn’t overpower the way a cotton candy or a bubble gum pink might. This skirt is such a soft and muted tone that it lets the orange top do all the talking, but I think it would be just as fun of a look with a more saturated pink skirt-who doesn’t love a good burst of color in spring?!
