Why yes, I do own an elephant skirt. And, yes again, it is a surprisingly easy piece to style. I love elephants (anyone remember my Save More Elephants tee?) and J.Crew seems to share that love, always coming out with fun elephant filled pieces year after year. (Check out one of my all time favorite charitable fashion campaigns Knot on my Planet to join me in supporting the Elephant Crisis Fund!)
Now back to this skirt. Yes, the elephants are fun. But the sophisticated color palette makes it easy to wear to work and show off your killer style as well. A fitted black turtleneck proved to be the perfect balance to the bold skirt, keeping everything tied together (which was another great fashion campaign!) and anchored in the dark neutral.

Happy Weekend! I’m doing a surprise bonus post this Saturday since it’s finally October and my leather jacket collection can come out in full swing. They’ve been a staple in my fall wardrobe since I was in high school and I so look forward to bringing them back every October. This year I’m pairing them with booties that are both comfortable and stylish, plus great for traipsing around piles of leaves and old stone buildings.
Weather permitting, I’m heading up to Salem today for some witchy haunts and food truck fun! Do you guys have any fun fall plans for the weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

It may be the incredible amounts of pink, red, and purple that visually attack us all when we walk into any store this month, but I’ve been finding myself wearing more and more of these colors subconsciously lately (as seen here and here). I love layering blouses underneath dresses for an unexpected pop of color and this ensemble is no exception!

Happy Sunday, world! Fair Isle sweaters are such a huge weakness of mine (I cannot stop buying them year after year!) I’m back in NYC this week visiting my family, so when I picked up this sweater at Old Navy a few weeks ago, it instantly reserved a spot in my suitcase. It is perfect for Christmastide celebrations- still festive and fun, but cozy and not fussy. With a car full of gifts and cookie trays, I was really tight on luggage space for myself when packing for this week. Fair Isle sweaters, with their fun patterns, are perfect to wear on their own; so I didn’t need to worry about trying to find space for extra accessories and layers. However this sweater is perfect for layering and accessorizing when you have your own closet available- check out some of my favorite ways below!

PS Please pardon the iPhone pictures today! I tried to do the best with what I had available in between family time!
