Tuesday Ten: Fall Finds at Nordstrom

Hey everyone, welcome back!  Over the weekend I perused the Nordstrom website for a bit longer than I would like to admit.  Among all the gorgeous fall finds, these are the ones that stood out to me the most!

One: Fisherman CapTwo: Plaid ScarfThree: BandanaFour: Triangle Stud EarringsFive: RobeSix: PajamasSeven: Bell Sleeve Dress |  Eight: Crossbody BagNine: Block Heeled BootiesTen: Faux Leather Tote

One: Fisherman Cap I have been seeing hats like this one pop up everywhere from high end street style to suburban sidewalks.  As a bonafide hat lady, I am 100% on board.

Two: Plaid Scarf Do I really need to say anything about this one?  Plaid and scarves are two must haves during autumn, so why not combine them into one?!  I love the colors in this one.

Three: Bandana I am all about keeping the bandana trend going, and I love the orange color in this J.Crew one!

Four: Triangle Stud Earrings I love triangles and I have been looking for some fun gold studs to add to my small earring collection.  Also, the price point is gold.

Five: Robe I love my bathrobe, but it’s very lightweight and not very warm during the winter months.  This gorgeous UGG one would be perfect for getting out of the shower on colder days!

Six: Pajamas Another necessity when the temperatures drop is a solid pair of pajamas.  These ones come in several colors but I love the soft rose shade!

Seven: Bell Sleeve Dress  If you have any fall weddings, showers, etc you can buy this dress now and thank me later.  I love the attention to detail and the bell sleeves, but the color is just eye candy.

Eight: Crossbody Bag I am obsessed with the fact that a basic primary color such as ‘red’ is a fall trend this year.  The detail and texture on this bag is gorgeous and perfect for the whole season, straight up into the holidays!

Nine: Block Heeled Booties Another trend I am super into is white booties.  I’m not 100% convinced that I can pull it off, but these are so beautiful I may just have to give it a try.

Ten: Faux Leather Tote I use a tote bag to lug my work stuff around every.single.day so a seasonally appropriate piece like this gorgeous burgundy one is high on my fall shopping list!

What are you all looking to purchase now that fall is officially here?  Let me know in the comments!

Weekend LBD

IMG_2944IMG_2949IMG_2930IMG_2941

This Milly for Kohl’s dress is definitely my number one sidekick.  It just proves to me that the LBD cliches are totally true.  I’ve thrown on this dress for so many occasions I can hardly keep track of them.  A best friend’s birthday.  A wedding date where I don’t even know the bride and groom.  An office trip.  The list keeps going.  And last weekend, I pulled it out again for a stylish shopping trip with my mom.

Madewell is one of my favorite accessories stops in the mall.  As someone who usually gravitates towards preppy, classic, and professional styles, Madewell is the perfect stop to spice some of my looks up while still feeling totally comfortable in my style.  I bought this scarf in olive green in the fall and wore it nonstop over the colder months.  When I saw its cayenne colored twin, I knew I just had to have another one on rotation!  Add in a fun hat and these awesome Toms wedges and this little black dress suddenly has a totally different vibe to it.

I used to be hugely against leopard print- I think I always just associated it with the Jersey Shore and couldn’t fathom the day I would actively want to wear anything leopard.  After seeing it done tastefully enough times over the years, I decided to embrace it- my leopard print flats are a staple in my wardrobe now (last seen here and here)!  I’m a big fan of Sole Society, and when I saw this leopard scarf on their website for only $30, I knew it would work its way into my wardrobe sooner or later!  The pattern is the perfect pop of fun and excitement to an all neutral look.

Fall Must Haves

Fall Accessories on The Sol Compass Olive Green Madewell Scarf, Denim Lucky Brand Jacket Black Illesteva Sunglasses

On days when my creative energy just isn’t there, I always reach for the same staples.  This fall, they’ve been an oversized scarf and glasses paired with my favorite peep-toe booties and folder clutch.  Throw these three items in and they can elevate even the simplest of outfits to the next level year round.  My other go-to styling trick is usually a graphic tee layered under a denim or leather jacket.  I can remember my mom teaching me about layering when I was eight years old, and the same trick still applies sixteen years later- layers make any outfit look better.

Bubble Gum

Happy Tuesday, world!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was extra long thanks to Patriots’ Day, also known as Marathon Monday.  If you live outside of Massachusetts and don’t celebrate Patriots’ Day, you are really missing out- it’s sort of accepted as almost being better than Christmas.  Boston.com wrote an awesome article about why Patriots’ Day should be a Federal Holiday here, and I couldn’t agree with it more.  It’s a really unique holiday where there aren’t any expectations or stipulations; just a bunch of crazy runners making the 26.2 mile trek towards the city as other just plain crazy Bostonians watch and cheer on every single runner as a community, the likes of which I have never seen anywhere else.

Today’s look is from this past weekend; filled with not only awesome holidays, but also awesome weather.  This lightweight LOFT sweater is a perfect spring top, and will be equally amazing this summer to throw on at night when the temps drop a bit.  I love the bright pink color (staying true to the new obsession I divulged here), and decided to go with all silver accents to keep the look a bit more subdued for a day spent watching baseball games and other low-key weekend activities.

The New Neutral

IMG_4100 IMG_4102

As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I’m totally obsessing over pink this spring.  Some of my favorite pink finds this spring have been these shoes and this bag, because of their soft and versatile blush tone.  Blush is the perfect new neutral, because it goes with absolutely everything.  It can tone an outfit down or add a feminine touch of color like it does here.

Lavender Lace

IMG_4394 IMG_4395

If you follow me on Instagram, you may recognize this outfit as my Easter Sunday ensemble.  Wearing a skirt was actually a tad ambitious, and I only wore it for church and pictures before changing into some more weather-appropriate pants!  The purple was on par for Easter festivities, but it’s also a color I will gladly wear all spring and summer once the weather warms up here.  I love wearing white tops with colored skirts so that I can add even more color into the look with accessories, like I did here!

Easter Outfits

I don’t know about everyone else, but I can hardly believe that Easter is just over a week away!  Last night I hit Nordstrom’s online dress department and had so much fun dreaming up Easter outfits, the only problem I’m having right now is I can’t decide which of these fabulous frocks I should pull the trigger on for next Sunday!

Easter2

This feminine outfit is perfect for the girly-girl to wear on Easter.  I love all the shades of pink and white together, and nothing beats a floral dress during the month of April!

Details – Dress: Maggy London | Earrings: Bauble Bar | Bow Belt: The Limited | Hair Clip: Wedding Belles New York | Ring: The Limited | Pumps: Charles by Charles David | Handbag: Tory Burch

Easter3

This dress combines two of my favorite patterns, stripes and florals!  This dress makes the perfect canvas to add in your favorite colored accessories, so I chose to accent the pink and yellow in the flowers!

Details – Dress: Ellen Tracy | Earrings: Bauble Bar | Jacket: Topshop | Bag: Old Navy | Heels: Topshop

Easter4

Of course, dresses aren’t the only way to flash your spring florals!  These gorgeous Ivanka Trump pumps look great with this vibrant orange dress, and a denim jacket and bucket bag keep this dressed-up casual look fun for a more laid-back Easter vibe.

Details – Dress: Banana Republic | Necklace: Bauble Bar | Jacket: J.Crew Factory | Bag: Vince Camuto | Pumps: Ivanka Trump

Easter1

This is my favorite outfit that I dreamt up for Easter!  I love all of the cool tones together, and the tassel earrings make such a gorgeous statement!

Details – Dress: Adrianna Papell | Blazer: J.Crew Factory | Earrings: Banana Republic | Clutch: Sole Society | Flats: Ivanka Trump | Watch: Michael Kors

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!

Wish List: Pastel Accessories

Every time I sat down to write this post I thought to myself “Pastels, for spring? Groundbreaking.” (Slightly modified but you get the gist).  Pastels for spring may not be a new concept, but they are a classic for a good reason!  I have my eye on all of the spring accessories hitting stores now so that I can start using them now while I’m still stuck in jeans and sweaters!  Below are some of my current wish list items that I’ve been eyeing the past week!PastelAccessoriesPastelAccessoriespt2
