My Thanksgiving Outfit

IMG_5128IMG_5112IMG_5147IMG_5118

Hey everyone, welcome back!  For Thanksgiving this year I knew I wanted a brown and cream color palette, so when I saw this teal skirt at the Banana Republic Factory Store I knew it would be perfect for the occasion.

Casual Thanksgiving Outfit

IMG_5175IMG_5186IMG_5165IMG_5176

Hello everyone, welcome back!  Today I’m sharing a little Thanksgiving outfit inspiration.  If you have a more casual gathering (or a Friendsgiving!), a simple sweater and colored pants make a nice and easy ensemble, with a fun pair of leopard booties making the statement.

My Go-To Fall Date Night Look

IMG_5004IMG_5035IMG_5015

Hello my friends, welcome back!  Fall has been filled with lots of dates for B and I.  Between our anniversary, my birthday, and double dates catching up with friends that we hadn’t seen over the busy summer, it felt like I was constantly looking for a quick date night outfit I could throw on.

IMG_5029IMG_5030IMG_5056IMG_5055

More often than not, I settle on this combo.  A dress and tights are always appropriate, even if it’s a summer dress from a few years ago!  I got it from Express, but there’s a similar (and more appropriate) long sleeved version here!

Providence, RI Updates

IMG_4860IMG_4868

Hey y’all welcome back!  Today I’m sharing a few pics from our little day trip to Providence over the weekend!  I also updated my Providence guide here with some new food options so make sure to check that out!

I wasn’t really planning on taking outfit photos, but Roger Williams Park was just too beautiful to leave without a few snaps!  We went for the zoo, which is absolutely perfect during the fall.  All the animals were out to play (literally, lots of them were playing with each other!) and there were far fewer crowds than there are during the summer.  The zoo was also having their famous Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular that night, so we got to sneak a peek at some of the pumpkins as well!

White Way After Labor Day

IMG_4886.jpgIMG_4888IMG_4962IMG_4904IMG_4937

Hello everyone, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I borrowed this fun Banana Republic skirt from Mac because it went so well with these rust booties, and provided a perfect excuse to try wearing something white in November!  The earth tones in this particular skirt make it so easy to anchor with black and rust, adding a more seasonally appropriate element.  I think you could make this combination work with all different white skirts, as long as there are some darker colors to pull out!

Fall Weekend Ensemble

IMG_1600IMG_1616IMG_1587IMG_1604

Hi everyone, welcome back!  I always find that the interest in fall activities fades after Halloween, when in my mind it’s when they should ramp up.  Between holiday parties taking up our calendar in December and the cold weather that comes along, I want to get outside as much as I can!  We’ve had some warm days around here lately, which allow me to only wear my vest as outerwear.  I’m certainly not complaining about that!

Glam Tulle

Hey everyone, welcome back!  You all know I love a good tulle skirt (I last wore this one here, but see how I wore my other one here and here!)

I love the way my leather jacket edges up a ballerina-esque skirt, and these purple shoes from Banana Republic give a much needed pop of color to the ensemble!

Gingham Goodness

IMG_3456IMG_3417IMG_3439IMG_3472IMG_3418

Hey babes, welcome back!  In a sea of plaid flannels, this gingham popover from J.Crew really stuck out to me this fall.  The gorgeous green is such a nice change of pace from conventional fall colors (which you all know I love!) and the blouse has a nice different silhouette than the button up.  To keep my look anchored in the season, I paired it with these rust booties from Sole Society that I have been absolutely obsessed with ever since I got them!

Do you have any plans for the weekend?  I’m heading out to Springfield with my parents and sister for family weekend at baby bro’s college, and then early celebratory festivities before my birthday on Monday (eep!)  Whatever your weekend brings you, I hope it’s filled with laughs and happiness!

Breaking Plaid

To file under “shows B is still trying to convince me to watch”: Breaking Bad.  Plaid, on the other hand, is something we can both agree on.  When we first started dating, B exclusively wore flannels and jeans on the weekends, and his car even has plaid seats.  Needless to say, I think B was born for fall.

On that same subject, I raid Old Navy for updated flannels every September when the cool air rolls back in again.  (If you don’t believe me you can see examples here, here, herehere, here, and here.  Phew!)  While most flannels have some navy in them (at least the ones I gravitate towards!), I loved that this one was exclusively white and navy.  I originally planned on wearing it with my purple pants, but after I ordered these olive ones I knew they would be perfect together.

Elephant Skirt

Why yes, I do own an elephant skirt.  And, yes again, it is a surprisingly easy piece to style.  I love elephants (anyone remember my Save More Elephants tee?) and J.Crew seems to share that love, always coming out with fun elephant filled pieces year after year.  (Check out one of my all time favorite charitable fashion campaigns Knot on my Planet to join me in supporting the Elephant Crisis Fund!)

Now back to this skirt.  Yes, the elephants are fun.  But the sophisticated color palette makes it easy to wear to work and show off your killer style as well.  A fitted black turtleneck proved to be the perfect balance to the bold skirt, keeping everything tied together (which was another great fashion campaign!) and anchored in the dark neutral.

Outfit Details – Turtleneck: J.Crew | Skirt: J.Crew | Booties: Coach (old, similar here, here and here)

Thanks so much for reading!  I hope you all have a great week!
