Hello everyone, welcome back!  I always like to have at least one red dress for the holidays, and this one from Express caught my eye instantly.  I love the sheer sleeves, the polka dots, and the long sleeved silhouette most of all!  Paired with my new favorite Dolce Vita booties, it has the perfect amount of festive flair!

Christmas Dress With An Edge

IMG_5720IMG_5805IMG_5738IMG_5804IMG_5717IMG_5801

Hi everyone, happy Monday!  A few weeks ago, I took a poll on my Instagram asking what you all wanted to see more of this holiday season – casual or fancy outfits – and formal outfits took the win, so I started off with two velvet dresses in this post and a velvet tulle combo in this one!  There will be plenty of casual outfits to come (plus this green sweater which pairs great with jeans!), but today I wanted to do a bit of a crossover between the two.  If you have a formal event coming up but feel most comfortable in a moto jacket or stacked heels, this is the perfect marriage between the two.  I found this gorgeous lace dress at Marshall’s, combined with TJMaxx, they are my two favorite places to find dresses – whether it’s for graduation season or the holidays!  It is absolutely perfect on it’s own – I love the high neckline and lace sleeves – but to add a personal touch to it I think a black faux leather jacket and peep toe booties are the perfect way to add a little edge to an otherwise formal piece!

Ballerina Inspired

IMG_3363IMG_3391IMG_3386

Hello my loves, happy Friday!  I can’t believe it’s already December! As usual, I’m sharing my Nutcracker outfit, it’s actually a lot similar to last year’s! (But totally different from the year before!)

I love the way velvet and tulle work together to create a dimensional textured look, so keeping the colors at gray and navy allowed the focus to stay on the textures of the outfit. What are your favorite ways to wear a tulle skirt?  Sound off in the comment section!

Holiday Velvet with Old Navy

Hey everyone, welcome back!  Today I’m so excited to talk about holiday’s velvet trend!  I have strong flashbacks to Christmas of 1997 when my cousins and I were all decked out in velvet dresses holding our American Girl Dolls, but it’s hard to deny the festive warmth that velvet holds!  Old Navy has some amazing velvet pieces, from dressed to camisoles and even pants!

This first outfit is perfect for a casual way to embrace velvet.  With a statement dress like this one, it’s easy to keep accessories to a minimum.  I went with my classic gold jewelry and threw on my leopard heeled booties to create a more fun and quirky outfit.

The second outfit I decided to lean in to the shorter hemline and go for a longer and sleeker look by adding in my classic black mules.  I love the faux wrap detail this red dress has, and you really can’t go wrong with red and velvet for the holidays!

Festive Flair

IMG_5430IMG_5473IMG_5421IMG_5441IMG_5423IMG_5481

Hey everyone, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Weekend!  In case you missed it, I launched the first set of my gift guides on Saturday, and also wrote about the perfect holiday gift I found for B here!

Today, since the holiday season is in full swing, I wanted to incorporate small amounts of festive flair without feeling overwhelmed by it (since I can hardly believe November is almost over!)  The bright green of the sweater and the bow detail on the back make it perfect for a slow embrace of the Christmas spirit!

Hey everyone, happy Monday!  I have been loving deep clover greens and marigold yellows lately, so I loved having an opportunity to pair them all together!  This skirt has been so fun to wear over the fall and the elephants are always a great conversation starter!

My Favorite Fall Items

IMG_4587IMG_4610IMG_4579IMG_4599IMG_4626IMG_4677

Hello everyone, happy Thursday!  Today’s outfit features some of my favorite pieces this season.  I was desperately searching for a pair of olive pants until I found these ones, and they have been just as great as I expected them to be!  This white top from Banana Republic fits like an absolute dream – the super flattering cut just drapes off your body, and it’s nice to have a white top that isn’t a stiff button down!  You can never go wrong with a black blazer, and these rust colored booties have been on repeat ever since I got them!  It’s really no surprise that my three clothing items are all from the GAP family.  I am a loyal GAP customer and know that I can always find things that I love their.  Especially since shipping is free once you spend $50 at all four brands (including Athleta) – which is just way too easy!
