Lavender Glam

IMG_9050IMG_9026

Happy Monday my loves, welcome back!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Over the weekend I wanted to challenge myself to make lavender work for those days when you aren’t aiming for a traditionally soft and feminine look.  It’s also a great way for the non-girly-girl to embrace the purple tone in with some hard edged glamour.  This formula would also work well with lilac or blush!

Sweet Like Lemonade

Happy Friday my loves!  With this unexpected heat wave this week, I have been embracing light colors and airy fabrics as much as possible.  You may recognize this yellow skirt that I wore nonstop two summers ago from this post and this post, so I decided to bring it back with some pink accents this time.  Yellow is one of spring’s hot colors this year, so I was able to find similar styles herehere, and here.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well it pairs with a variety of colors, from olive to pink.

Uniformity

Hi everyone, welcome back!  Today’s outfit is inspired by my love for color coordination.  When I found this matching duo at the Banana Republic Factory Store, I instantly fell in love with it.  Of course, for those not huge on the matching set, the skirt and blouse would look equally as good paired with navy, whites, and grays by themselves.

Earth Tones

Welcome back my loves! I have had hiking on the brain since last month, I guess it was just a matter of time before I started to show it in my outfit. I am always so anxious to get outside in the spring (as much as my allergies/sinuses may resist me), I’ve been dying for the weather to catch up with me! Until then I’ll be over here wearing skirts with sweaters and jackets until my legs no longer freeze…

Love At First Stripe

Happy Hump Day!  Today is the second outfit post of my sister trip to Nashville.  While I was on the Abercrombie & Fitch website searching for this dress, I found this striped shirt and instantly fell in love with it.

Nashville has these B-cycle stations all over town.  They are a great and affordable way to get out and explore more of the city than you may have been able to on foot!  The best part is you can just drop them off at whichever station you end up at, which is super easy since they seem to be everywhere!

The Parthenon is possibly best known amongst those my age and under from its cameo appearance in Percy Jackson, but it is an incredibly impressive full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens.  It’s situated right in the middle of the beautiful Centennial Park, a place I could spend days in with ease.

Belle Meade

IMG_1046.jpg

Good morning everyone, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Today kicks off my mini series of posts from our Tennessee trip!  We had beautiful weather while we were there, and spent one gorgeous afternoon at the Belle Meade plantation.  The day started off with a tour of the mansion, including some background history of Bonnie Scottland (ancestor of 104 Kentucky Derby winners!) and the Harding-Jackson family influence throughout the Civil War era.  The tour ended with a wine tasting in the Winery, a small shop filled with wines and gifts alike!

I could not be more excited to have a chance to wear this pink lace midi dress.  It was perfect paired with a little denim jacket, and comes in tall and petite sizes, so you can definitely find you find your perfect length!

After the tour and wine tasting, we easily could have spent hours exploring the beautifully landscaped grounds around the plantation and learning more about Uncle Bob Green and the horses!

Pink & Yellow

IMG_0761.jpgIMG_0747.jpg

Happy Hump Day my loves!  I hope you all are having a great week so far.  I have been embracing spring colors like they’re going out of style, and I love the unexpected effect of pairing hues close together on the color wheel like pink and yellow.  This combo would look great alone for an event, with a casual denim jacket for weekend wear, or with a gray blazer for something a little more formal.  I chose to go with gray since it adds a nice neutral touch to the bright colors and makes the bold combination appropriate for nearly any occasion!
